In June 2018, IATA members adopted Resolution 753, establishing standards for accurate baggage tracking and inventory management throughout the baggage journey. The primary objectives of this resolution are to prevent mishandling by clearly identifying custody at each phase, enhance passenger satisfaction by reducing baggage errors, and minimize the risk of baggage fraud through complete chain closure. Additionally, the resolution aims to facilitate faster reconciliation processes, ensure flight readiness, and generate reliable evidence for interline billing procedures.

The Baggage Handling System (BHS) application we offer is designed to support these compliance efforts by providing key functionalities such as:
<ul>
<li>Demonstrating the transfer of baggage custody during delivery and acquisition events;</li>
<li>Providing comprehensive baggage inventories prior to flight departures;</li>
<li>Enabling seamless data exchange with partner airlines and ground handlers when necessary.</li>
</ul>

Our BHS system effectively tracks all stages of baggage handling via custody events, including:
<ol>
<li>Check-in: When a passenger delivers their baggage, the system records the handover from passenger to check-in counter or sorting belt.</li>
<li>RX Scan: Post-X-ray security process, the system logs the baggage’s placement into carts or containers before loading onto aircraft.</li>
<li>Off Aircraft: Upon arrival, when the baggage is transferred from aircraft to handlers or conveyor belts, the system documents this custody change.</li>
<li>On Aircraft: During loading, the system notes custody from handler to aircraft.</li>
<li>In Terminal: When a passenger receives their baggage at the destination, the system registers the final custody transfer from handler to passenger or delivery point.</li>
</ol>

The i-Handler BHS application serves as a versatile tool for airlines, ground handlers, and airport security agencies seeking to comply with Resolution 753 or improve their baggage tracking efficiency. It provides a cost-effective, modern solution capable of operating across multiple zones without reliance on specialized barcode hardware. Any iOS device can be transformed into an effective Baggage Terminal, enabling personnel to monitor each process stage effortlessly through scanning and event registration.

This integration eliminates the need for expensive dedicated hardware and proprietary airline software. The application enhances operational productivity by leveraging familiar smart devices while maintaining industry-leading reliability and compliance standards.
